FRAUDULENT EMAILS: Being pressured to upgrade account when it is relatively empty

I use Dropbox ONLY to access a small number of pdfs across several devices. I have a free account and I use 1MB out of 2gigs. That's right - ONE megabyte. I have 3 pdfs in there. I have now received 3 emails saying my storage space is "critical" since I am 87% full and I should upgrade. This is not a new tactic. I have received these before. If you search these forums, you will see many posts about this issue and I now severely doubt that it is a "technical problem." Are you hoping someone will panic and upgrade? Is this a scam? If so, this is absolutely shameful.

Hey there, Johanne999, let's jump right into this!

Based on what you mentioned about your account's quota, then is it possible you have two different Dropbox accounts?

As a first step, can you check your plan page, and let me know what it reports there? If you could also clarify the domain that you're receiving these emails from, I'd appreciate it.

    Let me know more!
