Re: Incorrect dropbox space usage on windows
Hi all,
I hope I'm in the right category, but It seems like my storage is totally empty on my end. There is one Shared folder which is empty and I think I turned it off correctly.
At the same time, I'm getting emails wanting me to get more space, and pay them what is a lot of money on my budget! The red bar on the bottom of my nothing, says my free account has 2.25 GB of space, but is overfull with 2.26 GB's of mystery to me!
It's been like this for some time, and I haven't looked at it in a long time. The one shared folder was used to transfer a fairly large file (too big for email, anyway) and hasn't been used since. That file has been removed, and I can find nothing nowhere nohow.
There is a group that puts files on their Dropbox, and I download from there, directly to my Desktop. So far as I can tell, my Dropbox is nowhere around.
I would like to use it again, if I need to, and 2.25 GB isn't much space anyway, so it would be seldom, but I'd like to have it back.
Can anyone clue me in on what I'm missing, other than marbles?
Thanks ~ Sam

Amazing, Mark, thank you!
I must have found Backups a while back, it overloaded last December.
As it is, I had to do some clicking around to find out how to get back to regular Dropbox.
Good call, I'll bet that's a pre-written comment you send to everyone with the same problem.
Sort of along the lines of: "Turn it off and turn it back on again!"
Much obliged, thanks ~ Sam

Hi, I have a similar problem. I got a message saying my dropbox is full, and upgrade to get more space. I have a basic account of 3.3GB storage. I deleted all the files in my web Dropbox and my local Dropbox folder on my Mac. Even after deleting all the files, it says I am still using 4.6GB. I double-checked that Backup is not on. No shared files/folders. Any assistance would be appreciated.

Hi sid3, I hope you're doing well!
Can you try to delete any folders within the following link, in order to free up space: https://www.dropbox.com/backups/PC and let me know if this works out for you?
Keep me posted!

Hi Megan,
Thanks for the reply! Just tried, but this is what I see.
No backups.
Is there anything else I can do?
Thanks!
