Unable to leave shared folder - no dropdown by "can edit"
I'm out of storage in basic and tried following the instructions to leave a shared folder. I'm not the owner, but when I get to the menu for who can access I don't have a dropdown by the "can edit", it just says "can edit". The other people who can access have a drop down as does the owner. Is this trying to tell me something? The screen shot has been redacted for privacy reasons. I am "Alan", the Owner is further down the list and not shown.
[I'm finding the way that someone sharing something with me can totally lock up my dropbox as out of space is quite annoying; especially when I cannot

I believe you're following the wrong instructions. It sounds like you're following the instructions to remove a member from a folder you own, rather than the instructions for removing a shared folder from your own account. Try these instead:

Thanks!
I have tried to follow these instructions:
I hovered over the folder went to the Share (box with arrow pointing out) and the next step is to Click [x] people have access.
The closest I see is "Who can access" which takes me to the screen which as you say is identical to the one for removing a member's access.
Very puzzled....

I have this precise problem and it is driving me insane! All my hard dive space is gobbled up and I can barely function here.
Have you resolved? How???
I have tried:
-disabling extensions
-different browsers
Thank you!

Hi Joanna,
Despite several attempts at help from Dropbox in the end the only way that worked was to phone up the person who had originally shared the large folders with me which were blocking further use of drop box and ask them to remove my access to these folders. This worked, but isn't a great solution (what do you do if they are no longer available to be contacted?).
Dropbox did offer to sell me upgrades to higher capacity versions but I don't really want to get into subscribing for storage space.
I hope that helps and sorry I don't have a better answer!
