My shared account, one of musicans that I share a folder with is using windows, and he keeps having issues. The error message he was receiving is âYou are out of memoryâ, I have asked him to delete. his old free DropBox account, which he said he did. I know itâs not my account, because I have 2 TB, and not even close to using a 10th of it. He told me the message he gets from DB is he needs to establish an account using a email address?? I have invited him, with edit and view rights, and even sent a link. He thinks because he briefly paid for an account 30 years ago, the his windows laptop is hard coded. How can he strip any reference to his old DropBox off his windows laptop, and what if he tried a new password. Another weird thing is, when I look at his name it has a red disabled next to his name35Views0likes2CommentsHow can I upload files to a paid account without upgrading myself?
My family member and I are trying to share a Dropbox folder for caregiving. The family member has a paid account, and I have a free account. Is there no way for me to upload files to our shared folders without upgrading my account to paid? Anytime I try to upload a file, I get an error message telling me that have surpassed my 2 GB storage limit with my free account.38Views0likes1CommentFiles aren't set online-only automatically when copying files from an external NAS to my Mac.
Device MacBook Pro Operating System/Browser (if using the web) OS26.2 Dropbox App Version (if using the app) 240.4.8493 Syncing Status Syncing, but it shouldn't? Question or Issue Default syncing preference is set to online-only, because I want to save the files off of my MacBook, to save space. But everything I copy files from a external NAS to the Dropbox, it takes up space on my MacBook, hundreds of GB's... If this setting is offered, and turned to online-only (it literally says: You set this to online-only so new files will not take up space on your harddrive) then why is is still using all the space on my MacBook?76Views0likes5CommentsI've deleted content from my Dropbox account, but I still can't share/sync new files.
Basic Dropbox Plan I canât sync my files on any device, neither mine nor those of my collaborators. I had run out of storage 5 months ago, and I deleted things. Now I have more than 1GB of free space, but nothing is syncing yet and nothing seems to be able to force the syncing. I donât want to upgrade my plan; since Iâve freed up space, I want it to work exactly as before. It hasnât been updating for four months. How can I solve?127Views0likes9CommentsI'm still getting emails to upgrade my plan because a shared folder is using all my storage.
Why I'm still getting emails to upgrade my plan because out of space. I got only 350 MB of files and I'm added to a shared clients folder with 400+ Gb which I don't own. Why should I upgrade my plan to have the files which are not in my dropbox?!59Views0likes2CommentsHow does an account storage downsize affect shared files?
Hello! I had used a Dropbox account for my old employer but no longer work for them. I was not a part of a "team," and instead just had access to folders and would upload files from my account to these folders. I also created folders within these shared folders. My employer had paid for the Premium plan, so after leaving, I stopped the payments for a larger storage plan and was downgraded to the Basic Plan. I received an email recently stating, "This is a reminder that your account is currently over its storage limit. If your storage is still over the limit, weâll take steps to bring your account within the limit. This includes deleting files and leaving shared folders." How does this impact documents I had uploaded to shared folders? Does this remove any document I have uploaded to shared folders? If they delete, does it prevent other members of the shared folders to see the document, or does it only remove my access to the document? Any help would be greatly appreciated, as the documents in shared folders are extremely important files, and the "take action or else" date is next week. Thank you!58Views0likes1Comment.txt, .py, .java files all empty, and my quota is full
I am trying to sync my dropbox account from my old laptop to my new laptop (both Windows 11). However, I noticed that all my files containing code are all empty. I checked these files on the dropbox website as well and they all show 0 bytes. Upon checking the version history, it still shows 0 bytes. These files are all fine on my old laptop, however. I am wondering if it is a kind of storage issue as my dropbox is currently full (although these files were created prior to this I believe). Thank you for the help.25Views0likes1CommentDon't Require Quota to Access Shared Folders
It makes absolutely no sense that I have to increase my quota in order to access a folder that someone is sharing with me. That quota is already being paid for by the other person. Did you let your CFO design the user experience, because this is absolutely NOT customer obsessed. As a customer, I should be able to access folders and storage shared from another customer's account regardless of the amount of quota I have. Even if I have a free account, I should be able to access the content. Requiring customers to have paid quota to a access a folder shared with them is certainly going to backfire from a net promoter score point of view. I, for one, will never be recommending that anyone use DropBox to share files until this functionality is fixed.208Views0likes4CommentsHow can I upload files to my client's folder, without paying for extra space?
Hello, I have a basic dropbox account that I never use. However I have a client that made a folder for me to download files. However I am trying to upload folders to his account/folder and it won't let me because it says I don't have enough space. How can I get around this as I don't want to pay for an account as I never use dropbox? Thank you everyone!43Views0likes2Comments
