Why can't I add files to my free account?

I am well below my storage space, yet I can't upload anything; I get the message that I am out of storage space.  The details are as follows:  Using 0.01 GB of 2 GB space.

Can anyone tell me what I am missing here?  Thank you.

  • Hi, Jay. I tried uploading something I knew was very small, and it uploaded. Maybe the sender didn’t tell me how large the other file was, because I can’t see it because it won’t open in Dropbox. I’ll check with that person and come back to this community forum if I need further help. Thank you. In other words, maybe dropbox denied it because it knew it would go beyond my quota.

Hi gkrupp56, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

Could you attach a screenshot showing the error message you're getting, as well as one of your quota page?

This will help me to assist further!

Thank you for your reply, Jay. For the life of me, I cannot figure out how to send you a screenshot via this email. If you can give me any guidance, I would appreciate it.

You can attach the screenshot using the camera icon in the reply post, or you can copy and paste the screenshot in your next reply.

Here is the info from Dropbox.  I am not sure what the quota is.  I hope this helps.  And thanks again.

You total quota is 2.25 GB, and you're using 10.4 MB of that quota.

Where do you see the error message that you can't add a file to your account? A screenshot of this would be great.

This is the message I get when I try to download a Google Sheets doc, and it is not very large.
