Apache can't open files in Dropbox anymore
Hi,
I am using an Apache 2.4.41 server which DOCSROOT directory is in a Dropbox drive. It's been always working fine until 2025-05-01, when my Dropbox client asked me for an update. I consent and immediatelly the Apache server stopped working. It seems it cannot open the files the way it did. If I move the web files out of the Dropbox drive (and I configure Apache to use the new location, of course) it works again. The error I'm getting is this one:
Warning: Unknown: failed to open stream: No such file or directory in Unknown on line 0
Fatal error: Unknown: Failed opening required 'E:/Dropbox/Web/index.html' (include_path='.;C:\php\pear') in Unknown on line 0Any way to fix it or workaround it?
Thanks.

We were able to reproduce this issue. It seems to be affecting the PHP files.

True. I restored the old path in the Dropbox unit and deactivated the PHP support. It worked. PHP files are shown as text files, of course.

Hi Ivan,
If you don't mind: how did you disable the php support of Dropbox? I would also like to get my application to run again until Dropbox provided a fix.

Hi.
I didn't disable anything, I just copied the web contents to another drive and changed the Apache configuration to point to the new location.

Hi Ivan,
ah, I see, that is also already my tempory solution :D
So I will still wait for a Dropbox update to fix it, still thank you for your response!

Thanks. It's been a mess since relogging made a new Dropbox folder, renaming the "old" one. I'm moving all the files from the older to the new one, so I guess it will reindex the whole 2TB.

Hi.
Following the opt-out instructions in https://help.dropbox.com/installs/dropbox-for-windows as suggested fixed the problem.
A mess when it recreates Dropbox folder but, finally, it is solved.
Thanks.
