Can we disable the Dropbox menu bar icon on macOS?

Is there any way at all to just get rid of the menubar icon? I keep getting red notification dots about things I don't care about at all, despite all notifications being disabled. Today it just neede...

Hey there, thanks for checking in with the Dropbox Community

Unfortunately, you can't remove the icon from the menu bar without qutting the Dropbox app. 

This will obviously prevent the app from syncing in the meantime, however the icon will disappear from the menu until the next time you run the app or restart your computer.

As far as I know, there isn’t a way to hide it manually.
