Can't install Dropbox on Ubuntu 20.04 in 2021
Hi!
Dropbox install on Ubuntu 20.04 does not work:
I download & run any .deb file from https://www.dropbox.com/install
It opens "Ubuntu Software" app (used to install all apps) and shows ...

You are right, this is strange.
Once I've opened a terminal in Dropbox folder and tried to run any command starting with "dropbox" OS said there is no such, but suggested to install one via a command:
sudo apt install nautilus-dropbox
I run it, Dropbox got installed again, all config was already setup, and now Dropbox works after a reboot.
Thanks for your help!
Support is awesome, but installation process on the most popular Linux - brings a lot of questions

Thanks for that! I've launched .dropbox-dist/dropboxd and it looks like installed Dropbox
I've opened settings and set it to start on system startup
I rebooted - the Dropbox is not running, no shortcut on Home screen or app named Dropbox in main menu (installed apps list)

Can you try checking the status of the app with the command outlined here, to see what that reports?
Also, if you check the System Monitor, do you see the app running there at all?

I am having the same problem. sudo apt install nautilus-dropbox yields The following packages have unmet dependencies:
nautilus-dropbox : Depends: dropbox but it is not going to be installed
E: Unable to correct problems, you have held broken packagesAfter installing using the deb64 "restart nautilus" appears but nothing happens. The first time I installed it it did work but I gave it the wrong account so I tried again, and then the problem started. I have completely removed Dropbox using synaptic to no avail. n There are no broken packages.
thanks for any assistance
