Quick update on this: it appears that this primarily affects users with many (at least 25 or so) starred files. We have identified the cause and fixed the issue.
The fix will be in Dropbox for iOS v120, going out early next week (around Nov 6).
Thank you very much to those of you who wrote in and contributed by giving detailed descriptions of the issue, and extra thanks to those who sent in videos and crash logs.

I have the same problem on both my iPhones 8 and 6+ on iOS 12.0.1
The app freezes no matter what I’m trying to do on it. And yes I’ve tried all the suggested solutions too :((((

I talked to Dropbox team and they known this problem for fixing with next release / patch. Hopefully we don‘t have to wait for this severe 1 issue.
- AwpDk8 years agoExplorer | Level 4Just for reference.... i’m having the same problem.
I can make maybe 2-4 clicks in my iOS dropbox app before it freezes up. I have cleared cache, reinstalled the app. The problem persists. I hope this can get solved soon :-) - ThorstenWolter8 years agoHelpful | Level 5We have all exactly the same phenomenon- so dropbox has quickly to react. This is the basic functionality to use Dropbox- unbelievable
