Dropbox folder moved and renamed after team downgrade - it doesn't sync most of my files now
Hello,
I upgraded to a Dropbox business trial from Dropbox Plus, and then downgraded. After downgrading, my dropbox folder was moved and renamed. It used to be "Dropbox", but after the downgra...

Hi again Rich,
I realized the problem is I will not be able to have two copies of my dropbox files on my device (hard drive is 1 TB, and I'm almost at that with my original dropbox folder). Thus I cannot sync the same folders from dropbox online as in my original dropbox folder on my hard drive.
I can think of two solutions:
1. Get an external hard drive, cut all the files from my original dropbox folder to the external hard drive. Sync the online hard drive. Do the folder comparison via Beyond compare, and move files selectively (or via the merge option). However, I am wary of data loss with an external hard drive as I have had them become corrupted before.
2. Link my online dropbox to my computer, creating a new folder as per the support's instructions. But instead of syncing any folders leave it all 'online only'. Cut-and-paste my entire original folder to the new dropbox folder and, once it has entirely moved, sync it with dropbox online. I asked support about this but they only indicated I should do the manual check, so I am not sure if there is a reason this is a bad idea.
Grateful for any advice you have,
Shannon

3. Leave everything as Online-only and set one folder at a time as Available Offline. Compare that one folder (or a selection of folders if you can sync a few at a time). Once you know the files match, remove them from the old folder and set a few more as Available Offline. Rinse and repeat.
