If you've restarted your computer and the issue persists, can you please hover over the Dropbox icon in your menu bar (without clicking on it) and let us know what you see?
A screenshot of the error would also be helpful, if you could send one.

Thanks a Hannah, somehow "magically" the problem has been resolved this morning. Maybe it helped that the Computer was turned off over the week-end ? Well, at home on my MacBook I did NOT had this problem. I think it had something to do with our company network. Keep you posted if it pops up again. Best
