"dropbox needs to change permissions for the folder" after changing home folder name on macos
Hi
I changed the name of my home folder on macos monterey. I get the following message when opening dropbox: dropbox needs to change permissions for the folder users/OldHomefolder/.dropbox. The Oldhomefolder does not exist anymore. Does anyone know a solution? Thanks
- I found the solution in a previous thread. Just needed to delete the ~/.dropbox folder

Thank you so much for this post. I had been trying to solve this issue for days. Additional detail for others out there who might have the same issue, ~/.dropbox is a hidden folder. Go to your new home folder, hold command+shift+dot (dot = the period key), and the .dropbox folder should appear.
