Enabling autostart on dropbox headless - Debian 11
I have successfully installed dropbox on my server. I can run it manually without problems. However, if the server reboots the daemon does not come back up.
~$ sudo systemctl enable dropbox
Synchronizing state of dropbox.service with SysV service script with /lib/systemd/systemd-sysv-install.
Executing: /lib/systemd/systemd-sysv-install enable dropbox
update-rc.d: error: dropbox Default-Start contains no runlevels, aborting.
I suspect this is the problem and I've searched Google but haven't come up with anything concrete.
Any advice appreciated.

Welcome back to the forum, carlnielsen!
Just in case you haven’t tried this already, can you reinstall the Dropbox app on your device, and let me know if you see any difference?
Keep me posted.

Hi Nancy
I'm not quite clear on the difference that would make. The issue seems to be with the scripts that run Dropbox rather than with the Dropbox daemon itself. That said, I did run the "dropbox update" option and it downloaded and installed the daemon again (as it turned out I already had the latest). I think this would be pretty much the same as reinstalling?
As a note: your comment that I should reinstall the dropbox "app" on my "device" does make me wonder if you've misunderstood my scenraio which is with dropbox running headless on a server. The terms app and device don't seem appropriate in the circumstances?
