How to clear the Dropbox mobile app cache on iPhone/iPad?
Using an iPhone 5C running iOS 9.1 and Dropbox 4.0.4. The iOS Dropbox app itself is only 55.8 MB in size, however my iPhone is reporting that Dropbox is using a total of 300+ MB in Documents and Data...

Just noticed today that there's a new button in Dropbox settings saying Clear cache. So hopefully the problem is now resolved :-)

Found that button. Still doesn't work for me.

9 years agoWould you mind uninstalling the application & re-installing & see if this helps you clear the cache on your phone temporarily?

Dropbox added a Clear Cache button in Settings but it has never worked, and the "solution" is to unintsall and reinstall. Yes, that works, and I've suggested it to many myself, but that doesn't fix the underlying issue that there's a feature in the app that doesn't do what it's supposed to do.

Hey Rich, you're right (regarding the issue with the cache button) & I understand that this has been affecting a subset of users (who'd rather avoid going through the uninstall/ re-install steps and may be inquiring about a different solution).
This is (of course) a temporary remedy that may help workaround the issue, while our team is investigating.
Once I have more info, I'll make sure to update this thread here on the progress of the matter.

Thanks Jane. Just chiming in- have the same problem, I can use the same workaround, but I'd request this be elevated in priority to address.

It does.
But after the 20th time you get kind of tired of it.
