Dropbox for iOS cannot be installed.

Application Affected
dropbox for ios
Device
iphone 15 pro max
Operating System/Browser (if using the web)
ios 26.2、26.2.1、26.3
Dropbox App Version (if using the app)
(for ios 460.2)

Question or Issue

Ios 26.2, 26.2.1, 26.3 cannot be installed. After clicking on the app store, turn around, and then return to get it. It can't be installed. I called apple customer service and replied that the application was incompatible with 26.2. I asked for help in the community, hoping to solve it.

    Hey dustfog, let's jump right into this!

    Do you get any specific errors when trying to install the Dropbox mobile app on your iPhone?

    We haven't actually had any reports of any issues with iOS 26 so far. Is it possible that you've exceeded the 3-device limit that you have when using a Basic account?

    Also, I know this might sound trivial but have you tried to install the mobile app using a different network, or mobile data?

    Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

    hi,

    Thank you for your reply.

    1. I have excluded the limitation of 3 devices; currently, I am using 2 devices, but I am still unable to download;

    2. The process of failing to download is reflected in the iPhone iOS 26.3 App Store. After clicking "Download", it spins a few times and then reverts back to the download button;

    3. I followed the advice of Apple customer service and made changes to DNS, switched to mobile network, reset network settings, changed the region, and updated the payment method for my Apple ID. However, I still cannot download it;

    4. I packaged Dropbox into an IPA file using iMazing, but when installing it in Xcode, it prompted "The Dropbox app is not compatible with iOS 26, there is an internal API error."

    After consulting with Apple customer service, they advised me to contact the software developer to determine if the issue is related to a version problem that is causing errors for some users?

    Thank you for helping me. I've been working on this for a month.

    Hey dustfog-21!

    Would you mind sending over a couple of step-by-step screenshots demonstrating the exact process you follow when you try to download and install the mobile app?

    Do you get any errors? Also, have you tried restarting your device at all?

    I have iOS 26.3 as well on an iPhone 16 Pro Max and Dropbox version 460.2.2 installs without a problem.

    Yes, some users, including me, have encountered this issue. It's not a widespread phenomenon, such as incompatibility with the hardware of the iPhone 15.

    The iPhone has been restarted countless times, but it's still not working. I'm using the Chinese system. The screenshot initially shows a cloud icon (indicating it has been downloaded before), then it turns into a spinning circle when clicked, and finally returns to the cloud icon.

    In short, it cannot be downloaded and installed.

    Is there any conflict between the Dropbox version API interface and iOS 26?

    Thanks for the update and the screenshots, dustfog.

    I just sent you an email, so we can take a more in-depth look into this for you.

    Just get back to me when you can.

    Thanks!
