I installed the Dropbox app and it wiped my desktop and I can't store anything on it anymore

When I installed Dropbox, it wiped clean my desk top and I can't store anything on it anymore.  Do I have to get a new computer to fix this?  I've had Dropbox for a day and I already hate it.  Thanks for any help you can provide. sr534

Hi there, sr534, thanks for taking the time to post to the Dropbox Community.

What you're describing definitely shouldn't happen just by installing the Dropbox application on your computer, so let's see what we can find.

Can you give me a bit more info as to what steps you followed?

When you say that your desktop was wiped, do you mean that all the files in your Desktop folder got deleted along with the folder itself?

Any additional info you can think of, or better yet, if you can provide screenshots showing the issue, would be really helpful.

    Thanks!

    Hi there, sr534!

Hope things are going smoothly! Just wanted to check if you still need a hand. If all's well, feel free to share what did the trick.
