I want to delete dbkextd, but I'm unable to uninstall Dropbox from my macOS 15.3.1.

Tried to follow steps to uninstall DroBox from my MacBook Pro 16 running iOS 15.3.1.

Received notification that DroBox is still running and can't be unistalled? How do I resolve this?

I am following these steps to uninstall the Dropbox desktop app completely (https://help.dropbox.com/installs/uninstall-dropbox) and then continue with the advanced reinstallation steps (https://help.dropbox.com/installs/advanced-reinstall).

Thanks

HI Jeffrey Monroe, in order to look into this matter in more detail, I'd recommend contacting the support team directly for them to investigate further.

    Hi Nancy:

This started when I loaded and executed EtreCheckPro on my Macbook for another reason. The report listed as a Minor Issue and that this file is considered an "Unsigned File". I was then pointed to a posting on DropBox that this could be a result of the uninstall wasn't completed when the reinstallation was performed.

I did figure out how to quit DropBox and then reinstall the advanced. I haven't rerun the check again so I don't know if that file is still around our not. Will probably run it later today.

So I guess I'm good to go, unless you have more information about how to handle this file. I can send you the EtreChek report if it helps.

    Thanks

     Jeff

Thanks for posting this on our Community, Jeffrey Monroe!

Can you send me a screenshot of the error message you mention, so that I can have a visual?

You also mention in the title that you wish to uninstall the Dropbox app in order to delete dbkextd; can you send me one more visual of what you see on your end regarding this file?

Let me know when you’re ready.
