5 months agoHey RockWarrior, I hope it's okay to jump in here as well.
Can you let me know if before the reinstallation of your macOS you were able to use the Dropbox app as normal with the same exact setup?
Were you using the File Provider version of the app?
And lastly, can you take a look at this article to see if you're currently eligible to have your Dropbox folder on your external drive with Dropbox on File Provider?

Hi Hannah. I found this thread because my dropbox unlinked some months back from my desktop (still fine on iPhone) and I am having the same error as I try to relaunch/reconnect Dropbox on my Mac OS 15.4.1.
I am trying a standard instal (not on an external drive) with a free plan. I've tried unlinking the Mac via the website, restarting, and upgrading the app, launching while holding down the option key... I've attached screenshots of the sequence of errors I am getting. Thanks for any help!

Hey there, bgpictures let's see what we can find about this together!
I was wondering if you've tried clicking the "Relink" option as shown on your first screenshot, by any chance.
Also, could you try clicking on the blue hyperlink within the error message pop-up as shown on your second screenshot?
This will open a file with the full text of the error. Please either copy and paste the text in your next response, in order for me to investigate further.
Reply back to me, and we'll take it from there!
