I'm not sure I understand what the problem is, but it sounds like your best options would be to either:
- Set up your own password-protected Windows account and then have a separate login for everyone else so that they can't access your files. This way you could leave Dropbox installed but your files would still be (relatively) secure.
- Use Dropbox's web interface to manually upload and download your files as needed.

You should only need to delete the program once. It won't come back on its own, so you're either uninstalling it incorrectly or some other program is reinstalling it every day (which is unlikely).
Did you follow the steps in the Uninstall Process page that Rich linked? That should remove Dropbox from your computer.

8 years agoHey there,
If as you say it’s a sort-of-public computer, most likely it’s a work or family computer that others use.
If the Dropbox desktop application isn’t uninstalling, or somehow is being reinstalled automatically, then it might be due to the settings of the computer itself.
Sometimes admins can setup machines to ensure that certain programs are always on there, meaning it would check if Dropbox was installed, and if not, to reinstall it.
If this is possible on your end, then this could be why the folder isn’t disappearing.
