Please revert the new screenshot "feature" on MacOS, or at least give us the option to do so.
Hi, can you PLEASE revert that new Screenshot "feature" you added in MacOS. Previously, it was possible to simply drag and drop a Screenshot into Finder or Photos right after it was taken. Now, your stupid popup shows up and drag and drop doesn't work. This worked PERFECTLY in the past and there was NO reason to touch this functionality. Why are you taking this feature away from us???

Hey GregorBeyerle thanks for posting here!
Would you mind clarifying your exact OS and Dropbox version that you're using on your Mac?
You can find the version by hovering your mouse over the little Dropbox icon on your menu bar, next to your WiFi.
You also mentioned a pop-up that shows up. Would you be able to send me a screenshot, in order for me to have a visual?
Is the option to save screenshots and screen recordings to Dropbox enabled?Let me know more, and we'll take it from there!

Hi GregorBeyerle -- Thanks for flagging this feedback! I'm on the Product team at Dropbox, and I'd love to help here.
If you'd like to disable the Dropbox pop-up, you can do that via Preferences:
- Hover over the pop-up and click the gear icon
- In the "Screenshots" tab of preferences, you can toggle the "Show quick actions after screenshot" option off
That should prevent the pop-up from appearing!
If you're not seeing the original MacOS pop-up after that, you can use CMD + SHIFT + 5 to open your MacOS options. When you click "options," you should have the ability to enable "Show floating thumbnail."
Let me know if this works and/or if you have other questions!
Cheers,
Ryan

Turn "Save screenshots to Dropbox" option off. You'll see the bug.

Hey RyanFromDropbox ! This does not help because Dropbox app automatically disables the "Show floating thumbnail" after some random amount of time or a reboot, even if the quick actions are disabled. This is a bug.

Yes - I'm here to confirm that a recent change in Dropbox is messing up the "Show floating thumbnail" setting in Mac OS. I have to keep running a terminal command to turn it off.

I'm here to confirm as well that a recent change in Dropbox is messing up the "Show Floating thumbnail" setting (that you see when pressing ⌘⇧5 and click "Options") in macOS. In my case, Dropbox keeps reactivating the setting after I turned it off. (Quitting Dropbox solves the problem. Too bad I still have to rely on it at work.)

I'm experiencing the same.

Hi, all -- Thanks so much for the feedback.
For folks experiencing the issue with Dropbox re-enabling "Show floating thumbnail" in MacOS settings, we've identified the root is this issue and we're working on a fix for it.
This fix will be fully released within the next couple of weeks. I'll keep this thread updated!
Cheers,
Ryan

Has anyone figured out a way to revert the screenshot edit tools back to the mac edit tools?

Any news about this bug fix? I use the screenshot floating feature alot, and this causes an enormous amount of extra work.

Hi cineview - We've rolled out a bug fix that should prevent the MacOS floating thumbnail from randomly re-enabling. But it sounds like you're having the opposite issue: your MacOS floating thumbnail is randomly turning itself off. Is that correct?
I'll flag this with our team to see if this issue is covered by the recent bug fix we rolled out.
In the meantime, can your try updating to the latest Dropbox build (v222) and let me know if you're still running into this?
Cheers!

On Mac, dropbox folder now is always placed at the bottom of the Finder window, not possible to rearrange it to the top of the list without it going back to the bottom.
Is that also something that could be fixed?
