Problems with the sync symbol
I've had a problem with DropBox for a while now. Until recently, however, I didn't need it myself, so the problem didn't bother me.
I use my partner's DropBox on my PC. On his devices, a sync icon ...

Hi Noizy, since you are on Windows, please note that Windows has a limit of 15 overlay icons that Windows Explorer can load, and the operating system reserves 4 for its own use.
That could be the culprit there. Can you have a look into this thread, and what my colleague suggested there, and let me know if this resolves things?

4 years agoHi Noizy, welcome to our Community!
You mentioned that your icon ran up until Saturday via OneDrive. Can you let me know more on this, please? Do you mean that you were seeing OneDrive related icons next to your files, up until Saturday?
Can you send me some screenshots of what your partner sees in his Dropbox files, vs what you see on yours?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Wonderful job with the screenshots, Noizy, thanks!
Let me clarify that the way your Dropbox syncing icons look, isn't related to your Microsoft account, and how it operates. Just putting it out there, in regards to your initial post.
Have you made sure your Dropbox app is running as it should? You can always check its syncing status if you follow these steps.
Also, it might sound trivial, but have you rebooted your device recently?
