Reformatting External HD that houses my Sync folder from NTFS to to APFS

Hi cfmedia, thanks for bringing this to our attention.

 

What version of Mac OS are you running? 

 

There is a possibility that your Mac will have the newer version of the Dropbox desktop application, which stores your Dropbox folder on the internal drive, and can't be moved to an external drive.

 

This will help me to assist further!

    I am on Ventura 13.4.

     

    My sync folder is on an external RAID currently and I have used it on Monterey with Paragon NTFS for Mac but that software isn't allowing writing to NTFS drives when on Ventura for some reason. I'd rather just take advantage of APFS and move the RAID over to APFS vs NTFS. So I've been using the RAID to sync on my PC and a work drive on the Mac that I backup to the RAID to sync. I'd like to just move everything to the Mac and not use the PC anymore.

      If you're running the newer version of the Dropbox desktop application for Mac OS, you won't have the option to point to an external drive or RAID, so you might not be able to do what you're requesting.
