Mobile app on iOS frozen due to an ad pop-up
hi,
I have recently found that when opening my dropbox app on my iPhone 16 pro, after about 5 secs the screen is filled with the dropbox advert 'Try the best of Dropbox for free' this covers the whole screen and there is no way of shutting it down. See the screenshot below. Any suggestions apart from the normal, log out log back in again, would be gratefully received. Thanks, Jill
Hi there, Jill G.10, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
That's pretty strange indeed; can you open the app, tap on "account", then on the gear icon and then on "clear cache" to see if that helps?
If not, try deleting the app altogether and then reinstalling it.
Let me know how it goes!

Since the ad is cut off on the bottom, have you tried scrolling it up to see if there's a way to dismiss it? Failing that, it looks like you may have your display zoomed in for larger text. Try setting it back to normal and see if the full ad is displayed, with an option to dismiss it.

Hi Rich, thanks for your suggestions, I tried all that, made no difference...so in the end I uninstalled the app and left it for a while and then reinstalled it. So far so good, fingers crossed that's the end of the problem. Thanks again. Jill

Hi,
I ended up uninstalling the app as you suggested and waiting a while to reinstall it, so far it appears to have solved the problem. 🤞 Thanks for your help.
