    That's not a supported configuration. Dropbox is not designed to have multiple instances point to a single Dropbox folder. While I know it's possible on Windows (but still not supported), there are risks to your data when doing so. For instance, using features like Selective Sync in such a configuration will result in lost data.

    Each Dropbox installation maintains its own database of files located in your Dropbox folder. With multiple instances pointing to a single Dropbox folder, those databases will not be in sync with the changes made in either instance.
