The app re-indexes all files after each restart on Mac.
Each time I restart my Mac, Dropbox goes through reindexing of (seemingly) all files in my folder. The Mac's CPU usage goes up and the fan kicks in - it makes the computer slow for at least 15 minute...

I went through the list and didn't see anything that applied to me.
This just happened again on the very latest MacOS (Sequoia 15.3.2).
I see no way to attach screenshots to this reply. I tried dragging the pictures (PNG files) over but I see an error that says "File not allowed".

9 months agoPaul C.32, can you try to post your screenshot here again by copy pasting it in your message box instead? Do you still receive the same error message?

Ok, it looks like pasting works. Here's a few shots of what Dropbox and my CPU usage look like. Even though the Dropbox process itself is not busy, the `fileproviderd` is, as well as `corespotlight` from time to time:

Hi Paul C.32, how much free storage space do you have on your Mac device?
Do you have any proxy, VPN, firewall, security software, or even ISP/router settings that could be restricting traffic to the following Dropbox domains?
- Paul C.329 months agoHelpful | Level 6
I have enough space:
I don't use a proxy, VPN, antivirus, or any security software. The MacOS firewall is disabled.
In regards to the domains: that is a *very* long list and I don't have the time to test it. I'm not even sure what would be the best way (through the browser??). But I can tell you I have never added any domain to be blocked by my router, nor have I ever called my ISP to block something.
Also, note that the indexing eventually finishes, and Dropbox works fine. I think I'd get an error, or things wouldn't sync, if a relevant domain was being blocked.

Finally, a completely separate issue: I've had to restart writing this response 4 times now (had to switch to something else) because this box has a problem: all of a sudden it clears everything and somehow moves me to another reply box, and all my initial content is lost. It may have something to do with having a picture mixed in - not sure. But please fix it, it makes it very difficult to reply.
