The Dropbox folder on my new computer shows "This is an unlinked Dropbox"
HI,
I got a new computer and trying to re set up the dropbox. It show the folder are unlinked and need to be deleted. How to reconnect the folders?

Have you installed Dropbox from www.dropbox.com/downloading and pointed it at the directory you already had installed?

Yes did and got it work now but the dropbox folder show under favorite list instead of location list see screen shot.

I noticed there are many dropbox folders. Should i delete some of them?

Hey scottynyc, the only Dropbox folder that's linked to your account should be the one you can find in the "sync" tab in the app's preferences.
The rest of them do not sync to your Dropbox, so if you've made sure that they don't contain any files you need, I guess you can delete them.

hey Hannah, I tried to change back to the original folder location but it would let me do it. Getting an error.

It doesn't make sense I uploaded it from the backup that was uploaded from the other computer.

Hey scottynyc - when you say you uploaded it from your backup from the other computer, can you clarify the exact steps you took to do this?
Also, what is the app's exact status as shown in your menu bar at the moment? Were or are you currently a member of a Dropbox team account by the way?

I don't remember which steps i did and i am not a member of dropbox team. i might have to reinstall the computer.

I reinstalled it and it still showing up under favorite instead of location.
