I can't open my Excel files via the Dropbox app; Microsoft Excel becomes unresponsive.

I can not open my Excel files from Dropbox. I can open if I move them locally.

Hi there darnjack - sorry to hear you're having issues with this.

Can you please send us a screenshot of the exact error (or the last screen) you're getting so that we can have a visual too?

If you could also clarify your device's OS version and the version of the Dropbox app you're using, I'd appreciate it.

    Thanks!

Hey darnjack! Out of curiosity, are you having similar issues, if you open a Microsoft Word file instead?

I’d also like to know the syncing status and app version of the Dropbox app that you’re using.

No problem opening Word files. It is syncing fine. Our Dropbox is the latest version.

Thanks for the update on this darnjack  - could you clarify the exact status and version of the app as shown in your system tray for us darnjack

Does this persist for all of your Excel  files or only some of them?  Did you try reinstalling the apps and/or rebooting your computer since you first noticed this?
