Hi, thanks for your help btw!
It won't open in either dropbox or Excel if the iPad is not connected to Wifi. I get this:

3 years agoCould you attach a screenshot of the error you're getting in the Dropbox app when you're not connected to WiFi and you're trying to preview (not edit) the offlined file?

Could you try these steps, namely opening the file in Excel when there is a WiFi connection first?
Afterwards, when you go offline, you should be able to edit the file.

Unfortunately that doesn't work either. I've tried it on both iPad and iPhone.
If I open 1 file with WiFi, then turn off wifi and open the file again, it works. If I open 4 files on WiFi then try each again with no WifI they won't open.

If you're not on a Dropbox Basic plan with more than 3 devices connected, could you try uninstalling the app, rebooting the device, and re-installing it to see if this helps?
- Chris9563 years agoExplorer | Level 3Gah nope. Did as described, deleted, restarted, readded, opened the files at least once then turned off connection and when I tap open in Excel in instantly tell me I need an internet connection.
