The option to insert a picture in Word for the web is grayed out.
I am trying to insert a picture in a document using Word for Web on a Windows computer using Chrome. Any suggestions on how to enable this or a workaround? Thanks

Hey jhmosow, let me also jump in here!
I think it's best to search online, or go through the Microsoft forum in order to find a way to achieve that.
I did some research and was able to locate this article. Keep in mind that I can't guarantee that these steps are going to be successful since this is outside the scope of our Support.
If you need something else, please let me know and I will be more than happy to help every step of the way.

Thanks. Is there a way to turn off the compatibility mode?

Thanks for the visual, jhmosow! Since it looks like you’re using Word for the web in compatibility mode, you can take a look at this article for more info.
Other than that, we may not be able to help much, since this is mostly related to Microsoft, and not Dropbox.

Here is what I am seeing in the insert menu. The document I am trying to edit is a table. I am able to copy and image and insert it into the table cell.

Hey jhmosow! Thanks for posting on our Community.
Can you send me a screenshot of what you see exactly on your end, each time you try to upload an image on Word for the web?
Are any other options grayed out, or just this one?
In the meantime, you can also test this via another browser to double check if the same thing is happening.
Let me know what you find.
