Can't cancel free trial
I'm trying to cancel my free trial, but I don't have that option. Here's what the instructions say:
The "plan" and "manage plan" are completely absent from my options. I then tried to delete my account altogether, but it told me to cancel any ongoing subscriptions first, and this is what it looks like for me:
As you can see, it doesn't mention a free trial anywhere, but it shows 3TB of space, which implies that I'm being charged for the service with no way of canceling. I've tried looking for phone support, but apparently you need to pay to speak with someone over the phone. I'm afraid I might have to cancel my credit card. Does anyone have any answers?
Hey Red Gerran, sorry to jump in here, but I just wanted to mention that it looks like your trial was indeed cancelled, but you'll get to keep the additional quota till the end of the trial period.

- Nielo2 years agoNew member | Level 2I clicked on Android to look at Dropbox but when i saw an Auto subscription I shut down my phone window without clicking 'accept" I then clicked back in to confirm but there i was with a basic membership, which it said originally rolls over to a paid membership after 30 days. But now i cannot find where to cancel this. Ive followed the help function and the cancel option is not there.
In Australia we are protected by the ACCC which deals with this, ive taken screenshots and when my google account is charged i will be taking in to them, if your in Australia i woyld recommend this - Pam0002 years agoExplorer | Level 3This exact thing happened to me. I even kept the email to prove that the account had been deleted and they were “sorry to see me go”. No way to talk to a human and now being charged. I tried to delete the account twice, but with a email that stated they were sorry to let me go , you can imagine I’m very upset about being charged!! Any advice???

Hey Pam000, sorry to hear about this experience.
How did you create the trial? Was it through our website directly or from the Dropbox app on your mobile device?

Thanks for the update here, Pam.
If you use our payment lookup tool, does it bring up the email of the account that was charged?
And is it the same as the one you deleted?
- Pam0002 years agoExplorer | Level 3Yes.
You have a period between my first and last name, but that is the only difference. I signed up with the same email address no period. That must have been your translation, not mine. I do have a copy of the deleted account email. - Nancy2 years ago

Pam000, to clarify, does the email address you see contain a period between your first and last name? If yes, then this is considered a separate email address (also, Dropbox has no way of editing your email address; this is something that only you can control).
In any case, since we can’t look into this from a public forum, can we log a ticket for you (to the email address you see here) and check this internally?
- Pam0002 years agoExplorer | Level 3No. I think I can get emails from that email address, but it is not the one I signed up with. Unfortunately, if there had been any other way I could have contacted you except via a public forum please know that I would have.

Hey Pam000, thanks for letting me know!
I just sent you an email, in order for us to have a closer look into this. I'll see you there.
Cheers!
