Dropbox Keeps Charging My Mom's Credit Card For My Deceased Father's Dropbox Account. We don't know his password. We don't care about the files he may have had. We have contacted the credit card company twice. They keep allowing Dropbox to charge the card. How do we close the account and get Dropbox to quit charging my Mom's credit card. Thanks.26Views0likes1CommentI'm being charged monthly for Dropbox, but I don't have a paid subscription.
I have received a monthly charge of $11.99 for the past few years for a Dropbox plan that I don't have. I've even had to cancel my debit card and receive a new number, and this transaction still shows up every month. I've tried to ignore this because Dropbox makes it impossible to solve this problem but I'm sick of my money being stolen every month. I don't have 12 digit transaction ID so it's impossible to use the credit/debit card lookup tool - The transaction ID I have for this charge is "DROPBOX*+9 digits". I have 2 Dropbox accounts - One with my personal email, one with my work email. Both use the free plan, so I shouldn't be getting charged every month. I suspect this may be linked to my old university email, but I no longer have access to that account since I graduated 7 years ago. I don't think I ever paid for an account using that address, but this is the only thing I can think of. If I have a paid account with that address, I want to cancel it but can't figure out how. I shouldn't have to have access to that email address to do so - Since the charge is coming in to my bank account that I DO have access to. Dropbox, stop charging me and let me delete this old account!!! I don't even know if this is the right place to post this but I've tried cancelling my debit card, contacting customer support, using the transaction ID lookup tool, etc. and NOTHING has worked. I'm seriously at my wits end here. This honestly feels like fraud.51Views0likes4CommentsHaving trouble cancelling a Plus trial from Google Play
Hi, I had to re-install Dropbox on a mobile as it wasn't synch'ing properly and as part of the process the Dropbox app forced me to take the 2TB subscription as a trial (i could not just reload), i choose the annual payment option and the payment method is Google Play Store. I dont need 2TB of space so i am trying to cancel the trial which ends 9th July. However when i try to do this in the mobile app i click on 'your plan' (which states i have Dropbox plus) then click on how to cancel option, then click 'leave plus' it goes to a page that says 'manage subscription' but says we couldnt find your subscription. I then click the only option which is 'see current subscriptions' and it only shows the google one subscription i have, not the dropbox subscription. I am at a loss how to cancel the dropbox annual subscription option via google play store - please help?38Views0likes1CommentHow can I be refunded? I can't seem to be able to contact support
I recently signed up for a free 30 day trial and cancelled my subscription back to basic before the 30 days elapsed. However my credit card was charged and seeking a refund. It does not appear easy to go through support or get in contact with anyone who can provide assistance. Any help is appreciated. Thanks98Views0likes9CommentsI cancelled my plan at the renewal date. Can I still get a refund?
Hello! My Credit card was expired, and I cancelled the subscription the day it was supposed to renew, but still got charged. How can I request and receive a refund? I do not and have not used Dropbox for over a year (thought I cancelled it last year) so I am more than a little annoyed they still are trying to scive off $130 from me.39Views0likes4CommentsRefund not received after subscription cancellation (Ticket #24953311)
Hi everyone, In early April, I contacted Dropbox Support to cancel my paid subscription. On April 4th, I received confirmation via Ticket #24953311 that the cancellation and refund had been processed, and that the amount would be returned within 3 to 5 business days. However, more than a month has passed and I still haven’t received the refund. I tried reaching out again, but was redirected to an unmonitored inbox (Ticket #25009410), and haven’t received any response since. Has anyone in the community experienced a similar issue or knows how to actually get in touch with someone from the Dropbox team who can help? Thanks in advance for any suggestions or guidance!100Views0likes9CommentsBeing charged for an annual subscription, but I'm on the Basic plan. How can I cancel?
I am being charged 120 annual fee. When I go to cancel it says I have a free basic plan. When I look up the transaction id and cc based on other articles, the link does not work and won’t give me any results. I confirmed this is not a subscription through apple. I have spent hours now trying to cancel and been charged hundreds of dollars because of the friction to cancel. This cancellation flow seems to go against the FTCs click to cancel rules which require a way to cancel on any medium registered. The fact that I had to join a forum and make this post and there is no way to just log an issue and send an email is a huge barrier and this seems like an unfair consumer practice. Someone from Dropbox please reach out to me ASAP.23Views0likes2CommentsHow can I cancel/be refunded for a Dropbox account I can't access?
lo Dropbox Support Team, I am experiencing an issue with recurring charges from Dropbox that have been happening monthly for several years. Unfortunately, the email address associated with this subscription is no longer in use, and I am unable to access it. As a result, I cannot manage the subscription through my current account. Here are the details I can provide to help locate the account linked to these charges: • The email address associated with the subscription is no longer accessible. • The charges are recurring monthly payments. • I have payment details from my bank/credit card showing the charges. • The subscription has been active for several years. I would like to cancel the subscription immediately and stop any future charges. I would also like to request a refund for the charges that have been applied over the past months/years. Can you please assist me in resolving this issue and provide guidance on how to proceed? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Please contact me. I saw a similar post to mine. I registered this new account so I can send this discussion, for urgent attention. I need an urgent action to my Refund request ( I logged ticket # 25147780 ). Basically , my free trial period was due to expire on 31 May 2025 (I received an email reminder on 25May). I noticed in my savings account a "pending" transaction fee of $306.90, so I cancelled my free trial on 27 May 2025 (I saved a screen print saying ""You've successfully cancelled your trial"). After cancelling the free trial, I deleted my account. Yesterday, 28 May 2025, I noticed I was billed $306.90 plus an international transaction fee $9.21 . Please action my refund request asap.62Views0likes2Comments
