I was charged for an Essentials plan under another email
Against my will, I was billed for an annual Essentials account in March 2025—$199! Storage space is 100 GB, and heaven knows how, another email account was used. In the meantime, I had Dropbox Professional under the ORIGINAL email account I had from Day One here.
In a chat back in May, I was advised on how to transfer files from the Professional to Essentials. I was just about to do that this evening when it occurred to me that I would have to purchase additional space for Essentials—which I didn't want in the first place. As well, to keep my files in the Professional account, I decided to downgrade to Dropbox Plus and pay for add-ons! Absolutely extraordinary.
Dropbox, I have decided to keep my Plus account, where files will be downloaded by the end of this month. You are SOULLESS and UNSCRUPULOUS with the business practices of the most egregious mobsters. I am so DONE with you, and a POX upon this disgusting site.

Hi Astrojon917, thanks for bringing this to our attention.
I understand your frustration over what has transpired with this recent upgrade.
Were you able to locate which email address you used for the Dropbox Essentials plan? Were the support team able to assist with locating or cancelling the subscription for that account?
This will help me to assist further.

Good morning, Jay, and thanks for reaching out.
Yes, in a chat with a representative back in May, he told me what email was used to open the Essentials account, which is extraordinary because I have ALWAYS used one email address from Day One here.
As for cancelling that subscription, although he was very helpful, he told me how to transfer files from my ORIGINAL account to the Essentials account (I have a copy of that chat, btw) and although he never stated this explicitly, he never suggested cancellation as an option and DID tell me that Dropbox never issues refunds when I questioned him about the $37.89 (?) I had paid for my original Dropbox account. I had to think about my next step when I learned last week that keeping the Essentials account would entail my purchasing much more space.
Seems I just couldn't win for losing here, and I'm hoping you or someone on the staff can help me out—thanks very much!
