I have the same problem.
I let my monthly subscription (plus) purchased through the Apple app store expire.
I want to switch to the family plan but pay through the website (not via the app store).
But when I go to my account, it still says "Your plan and billing information are managed externally." even though my subscription expired 2 days ago.

3 years agoHi drstevok, just to make sure we're on the same page, have you tried these steps, in order to cancel your plan with Apple?
Since you're still on the Plus plan, it doesn't look like the subscription has expired, unless Apple is trying to bill you, but can't do it, which would take some days for it to downgrade, before you can re-upgrade with us.

That's right but there's no option to cancel (see screenshot).
How long do I need to wait? I'm trying to set-up the rest of my family but don't want to pay the additional cost that a subscription incurs when taken out through the App store.
