Backing up computer problem
Just established my dropbox account and trying to follow instructions to back up my computer but "preferences" does NOT display when I click on my avatar so cannot get anywhere.

Remember that it's referring to clicking your avatar in the Dropbox application on your computer; not on the Dropbox website.

Could you clarify your device's exact OS version and the version and status of the desktop app as shown in your menu bar/system tray?

Hi Walter - if I click the Dropbox Icon as you advised it comes up with a list of all the files that are stored on my Dropbox - no sign of any version number?
I am running it on a Windows 10 laptop - how do I find the exact version please?

Now that you've found the app itself, you can click on it once and view the avatar or initials on the top right corner to access the preferences.

I've been able to follow instructions on how to free up my C Drive.
