"Choose folders" option when backing up an external drive is not working

I want to choose specific folders to back up so I'm not using as much storage space. I found this option for my external hard drive, but when I click the "Choose folders" button nothing happens. There are no other tabs or pop ups that happen when I click it.

How do I make use of this feature if the button doesn't do anything?

Hey shersten, thanks for the heads up!

At that point, I'd also suggest uninstalling the Dropbox app from your computer, and then downloading and reinstalling it anew from our website.

I'll be waiting for your updates!

Thanks for bringing this to our attention, shersten.

Did you restart your computer or the Dropbox app when you saw that the "choose folders" button isn't working to see if it helps?

Yes, I'm aware of all of this. i have an external hard drive that is backed up on dropbox, but I don't need all of the folders on the hard drive to be backed up, so I wanted to choose which specific ones were backed up. I have restarted multiple times and the button still does nothing. I also can't even get the dropbox app to open anymore, it just opens an empty dropbox folder when I click the Dropbox app button. At this point I'm probably just going to uninstall and delete dropbox because this is ridiculous and not worth the hassle.

Dropbox only allows a set number of files and folders to be backed up - namely Documents / Desktop etc. or, whole hard drives.

You cannot choose any folder on your machine, I'm afraid. In terms of why button isnt working, have you tried a restart?
