I disbanded my Dropbox team and now I can't access my separate Plus account.
I run a small 4 person office was paying for 5 licenses. I was the only one using Dropbox. To save some money I investigated my options, since I am also paying for a Dropbox Plus personally. I was a...

PS I would love to open a ticket but because my account is now a basic account, and not the Dropbox Plus that I pay for, I do not seem to have access to those tools. Only community, and chatbot which wasn't helpful.

3 months agoHey jencoleslaw, I'd be happy to look into this for you!
Let's check to make sure we're aligned. You used to have a Team of 5, and a personal Plus plan. However, because you didn't need the team, you decided to disband it.
Now onto the issue at hand: do you get any errors when trying to sign into your Plus plan? In case you don't recall the email address linked to your paid Dropbox account, I'd suggest using our self-serve look up tool in order to locate the email address behind the charge.
Once you do that, you can either try accessing the account or resetting your password first. Want to give it a go, and let me know how it goes?
Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Hi Megan, thanks for responding. I am able to log in with my personal account no problem. I can even see my files online but my "personal dropbox" on my computer is now all my work dropbox files, and my personal files (which are in a plain folder on my computer) are not syncing to anything (but not getting any errors.) Even when I log out of this new "personal dropbox (1)" (which is the old Teams dropbox) it is still the default no matter what i do. I cannot link my Dropbox Plus account to this account because the only option is "link teams account" so am kind of stuck here.
It is as if the work account ate my plus account, but the work account is basic and it really should have been the other way around so that the Plus account is the one syncing.- Megan3 months ago

Thanks for the info jencoleslaw, let's see what we can do together about that
Have you tried signing out of your Basic account using the desktop app, and then signing into your Plus one?
Before signing into the Plus account locally, make sure to sign in on the website with the same credentials first.

There is no option for me to log out or quit the basic, and then log back in with my plus account. The only choice in the desktop app is QUIT. Even when I am logged in on my Plus account online, when I launch the desktop app, it just defaults to the basic. And then if I navigate away from the website , it also defaults to basic there too. Basic is overriding everything.
