Stop Win 11 taking over DropBox

Good morning,

I recently upgraded to Win 11 from Win 10 (BAD mistake).

Now the machine wants to copy everything to One Cloud and also Dropbox.

I've gone from Dropbox being a fit for purpose file sharing application, where I choose what I upload / share, to a bloated mess with daily warnings about running out of room.

Short of nuking Win 11 and rolling back to Win 10, how do I stop this unasked for behaviour?

Regards,

Mark

Hi there, Gibsonm, thanks for joining our Community.

Updating your Windows version shouldn't have prompted you to copy your files to Dropbox or other syncing services.

Is it possible that you enabled the backup feature on your Dropbox application?

Do you see a "PC" folder in your Dropbox folder, that contains your desktop files?

If that's true and you don't want your desktop files backed up to Dropbox, you can disable the feature.

Let me know how it goes!

    Hannah,

    No "PC" folder.

I just deleted everything and am starting over.
