190 TopicsHow to stop Dropbox from opening automatically on my Mac?
I've tried to follow the instructions that were provided to Walterâ on 2/6/23 to disable automatic Dropbox start-up when I open my Mac. When I click on the Dropbox icon at the bottom of my screen, I get the file folders that I've set up, not a page that has my Profile initials. Where do I locate the Preferences? Thanks for your help.Solved3.8KViews0likes2CommentsI've looked everywhere online for my selective sync settings, but I can't find them.
I have looked everywhere on my Dropbox.com account and cannot find sync anywhere. I have found preferences and there is nothing about sync there. I have a colleagues whose screen shows sync under this menu. I have been on Dropbox since 2008. I upgraded the desktop app but don't know if or how I can update the desktop application. Any suggestions? Could she possibly have a paid version if she has selective sync -- but even with the free version I should have sync shouldn't I so I can remove files I don't want to sync Her message: Across the menu bar at the top you should see a drop box icon. Click on it. [Note: this only opens my dropbox - I need to click my personal icon and then I get setting and preferences] Then youâll see an option called settings or preferences. Click on it and youâll see an option that says sync. [Note: I don't see sync option anywhere here] Click on that and look for an option that says âselective syncâ Here you can click only the folders you want.Solved8.2KViews0likes7CommentsHow to manage multiple Dropbox accounts on the same computer?
I am having no end of trouble trying to figure out the best way to coordinate between different email addresses. I have clients who add me to their dropbox using my current work email, that is not connecting to my personal login. I know of the "link" option, but when I go to it in my settings I get a 404 error. Then, I have a third dropbox connected with my former work--the employer removed all sensitive files but I still need to have access to items that other people shared with me via that email address, and I am authorized to access the account. I use dropbox for everything and had migrated my desktop to the cloud, but now when I changed jobs everything is broken. Is there any way to not have to be constantly logging in and out of multiple accounts--especially when I have it set to auto-sync my desktop with all current-working files, it gets very confused when I have to switch accounts. I am a freelance motion designer and have run into this issue way too often. I have my own Business account that I use for my freelance business, but whenever I need to be integrated into another agency's company ecosystem, Dropbox does not allow me to sign into their Business profile while staying logged into my own Business account for local working/syncing on the Desktop app. This can be incredibly frustrating if I am working on several projects at one time, which I often do. It would be so righteous if Dropbox allowed the use of signing into multiple Business accounts at one time in order to avoid the back and forth switching and to avoid needing to upload files through the web version to ensure backups are consistent/automatically synced on both accounts. PLEASE! PRETTY PLEASE!66Views0likes1CommentI tried to connect my desktop app to my old Dropbox account, but I accidentally made a new one.
Device Dell all-in-one Operating System/Browser (if using the web) Windows 11 Question or Issue I have a new Dell all-in-one desktop PC. It is intended to replace a prior Dell All-in-one PC which has a Windows 10 OS that is no longer supported. To access my prior Dropbox account and files, I thought I needed to download the Dropbox app on my new PC. Apparently, that was a big mistake. I now have two Dropbox accounts, can't access the first account on my new PC, and new account doesn't have the capacity to house the files from the first account should I try to transfer them over. I have messed with this unsuccessfully for more than a week, read the suggested articles and FAQs, etc. I'm ready to just terminate the new account and look for other storage options. How do I terminate my new account? For that matter, how do I terminate both accounts? Thank you.29Views0likes1Comment
