Has my Dropbox account been affected by malware?
Computer has malware is dropbox compromised?

Hi from me as well, JD6306! Hope youâre doing well.
As per your question, there could only be an issue if someone else had access to your computer, where the Dropbox app is installed, or if youâre not locking your screen, when youâre away for example.
If you feel itâs safer for you to just access your Dropbox files via the website, by logging in and out each time, you can definitely do that.

Hi Walter,
Thanks for your reply. I foolishly allowed remote control by a third party who I now suspect may have put malware on my computer but I am not certain.
All the files seem ok and nothing odd in my Dropbox account.
I just wanted to check if there was as possibility of Dropbox compromise in this scenario.
I have also wanted to ask another question for a while. I use Dropbox for work files (medical info so sensitive - hence the concern about potential compromise) and the files are duplicated on my desktop. So I usually just open from desktop and go from there but if I actually log in, the changes appear. Does the desk top version pose a security risk? Should I delete the desktop version and just log in every time ? Hope that makes sense!

I might just do the log in / out from now on - easier to control
