Hello everyone, I'm integrating Dropbox (as the Service Provider) with our internal IdP using SAML SSO and would like to confirm a few things: Does Dropbox support using a self-signed certificate on the IdP side for signing SAML Assertions or for the certificate uploaded in metadata? If self-signed certificates are supported, what operational or validation considerations should we be aware of? If not supported, what alternatives do you recommend?67Views0likes1CommentNot receiving the 6-digit security code so I can't access my account.
I'm trying to log in to my computer, but I never receive the confirmation code, even after waiting several minutes. It's not in my spam or junk mail folder, and I've added no-reply@dropbox.com to my contacts, but I'm still not receiving the code. Could you please help me recover my account? I'm very worried.39Views0likes1CommentWhy am I not receiving a verification code to my email anymore when trying to log in?
Hi! When logging in to the website, it used to send a verification code to my email. Now it only prompts the Dropbox app to authenticate log in, or via sms. It used to send to email but now I don't see it an an option. How to i add using email as login authentication option? Why does dropbox send send to the Dropbox app to. Authenticate log in? I don't remember changing it to that. Did this change at some point or did I change the setting without realizing it. Thanks!90Views0likes10CommentsDoes Dropbox scan file requests for malware? I also can't create file requests via the desktop app.
Dropbox Plan Business Are you a Team Member or Admin? Admin Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Yes Are there any devices connected to your Dropbox account? Phone, work laptop Question or Issue Our company has about 200 team members on Dropbox for business, and uses Dropbox File Request function and Shared links a lot for receiving/sharing files etc. from external vendors and associates. A question has come up recently in regards to maintaining our company's SOC2 certification and regards to data protection, does Dropbox has any sort of virus scanning capabilities/malware/phishing/ransomeware scanning/protection for files being uploaded through file requests or throughout its storage systems. Would like to know if there is already any known existing functions on Dropbox, or is there any future plans to this being developed. Microsoft Sharepoint has virus screening/malware etc capabilities so we are also contemplating replacing Dropbox file requests with uploads to sharepoint instead, and are wondering if there is a direct api to link Sharepoint to Dropbox, where files uploaded to a Sharepoint folder can be uploaded to Dropbox automatically. Something else on the side, in Dropbox desktop app, we used to be able to right click a specific folder and create a file request through the options listed, and it would pop up into the browser to create that file request link and the exact folder path would be prepopulated. Currently, I have to right click and view Dropbox on browser, and click create file request on the browser, and sometimes the folder path is not prepopulated, and I have to slowly search and browse through to get to the exact folder path (which is very tedious).43Views0likes2CommentsI have an unknown device connected to my Dropbox account

Hi, I would like to make my Dropbox account more secure, so I tried to set up the 2-factor authentification. However, I have no cell phone, so I can't set it up. There is no option for a desktop-based authentificator (like KeepPassXC), nor for Dropbox to call me on a landline phone. What do you suggest I do to make my account more secure, if I don't have a cell phone? Thanks.34Views0likes2CommentsIs it possible to store files in EU servers?
Hello I would like to know if it's possible to configure a dropbox account to store files only in Europe. I found this GDPR - server location | The Dropbox Community but it's an old post and I haven't found any official document from dropbox with a formal answer to this. Thank you46Views0likes3CommentsLocked out of my account because I don't have access to the authenticator app
I have been locked out of my account, my phone died and while the number is the same, I don't have access to the 2 Factor Authentication app, I was using Microsoft Authenticator. However, I was never prompted to setup a backup code, which support told me should have been emailed to me. And while I know I set up a backup email, there is no option to unlock the account with any other method. Dropbox Support has told me there is no way to access my data now, and that's unacceptable. I'm so very very disappointed in Dropbox, they take more than 24 hours to respond to emails, and at odd hours too, and even if I respond to them right away, it takes a day or two to get a response. I have seen other posts in this community and other sites about this exact same problem that were resolved. I am most upset that I was told by Dropbox Support that I would still have access to my own files that were on my desktop, but I have been locked out of access to MY OWN FILES. This is absolutely unacceptable. I am totally at a loss what to do, it is so frustrating, and Support has been extremely rude and dismissive. Even if given access to my files, I will not be using their services anymore. Can anyone help me? Thank you. Do you have access to the email linked to the account?
