I had a Dropbox account that I paid for that was attached to a previous email address that I no longer have access to. When I try to login to that account, a code is sent to the email address I no longer have access to. Logging into the account to update the email address is not an option. Logging into the account to remove the 2 factor authentication is not an option. Any suggestions that don't involve cancelling my credit card so I'm not charged for this subscription anymore?28Views0likes8CommentsThere is a Dropbox Transfer on my account that I didn't send
I got an email that I sent a file transfer. I did not create this transfer nor the file. I got an email that I had recieved a file transfer from me. Again I did not send. No one else has access to my account. I did a "security check" and changed my password just in case. I am concerned that it looks like someone used my account to create a transfer45Views0likes10CommentsI don't see where I can use my 2FA backup codes to enter my Dropbox account.
I unknowingly lost access to the e-mail address I used years ago to sign up for Dropbox (a comcast.net domain)--when I realized this, I wrote down the Backup Codes and was going to change my e-mail address, however prior to that, I got a new phone and when I was logged out of my account, I cannot get back in to do that without the 2FA code, which obviously goes to the old e-mail address. This is an account that is 10+ years old and didn't initially have 2FA. I know my password and have the backup codes, but have not been able to find the place to enter the backup code to allow me to access my account and change the e-mail/add a phone backup. Any ideas where I can enter the codes?31Views0likes6CommentsIs Dropbox a secure option for storing sensitive files?
Hello everyone, I’ve been using Dropbox for a while now to store documents and photos, but I’m starting to wonder about its security, especially when it comes to sensitive or personal information. I’ve heard mixed opinions on cloud storage services, and I’m curious to know how Dropbox stacks up in terms of security features, data encryption, and overall reliability. For those of you who use Dropbox regularly, do you feel confident that your files are secure? Have you ever had any issues with privacy or unauthorized access? I’d also love to know if you’ve found any useful tips for keeping your data safe on Dropbox. Looking forward to hearing your thoughts!18Views0likes2CommentsThe one-time code isn't delivered to my email address.

I received this email from Dropbox saying 5,860 files were deleted from my account. I looked at the files and none of those files were created by me. I had no idea they existed and I cannot see any other info as to when they were created. It doesn't even allow me to look what's inside any of those files. The only option is to restore all of them which is not ideal as they look like files created by a hacker with weird domains being the names of the files. I have already changed the password for this account. What are my options here ?13Views0likes1CommentMy wife is locked out of her Dropbox account. Seems it might have been hacked.
My wife has a Dropbox account and it appears to have been hacked and no longer allows her to log in. Yesterday there was an email blast that emailed everyone on her contact list and it was made to look like it was from Dropbox and contained a link to Dropbox files that I assume are viruses or malware. When she tried to log in to Dropbox to see what was going on it suddenly started asking for 2F authentication, which it had never done before yesterday. She needs help logging in asap. I'm creating this post on her behalf because she can't log in to Dropbox in order to do it herself.36Views0likes3CommentsGot a shared invitation that appears to be spam. How do I block users in Dropbox?
Got a message : admin [email removed as per Community Guidelines] invited you to view the file "Annual Salary Increase Approval & Open Investment Enrollment.paper" on Dropbox. I don't know this person. So first indicator of spam through Dropbox. How do I block this user and report them to Dropbox. The method to do this through the menus accessible through my account is not clear. Thanks!17Views0likes4Comments
