Dropbox Plan Plus Are you a Team Member or Admin? No Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Yes Are there any devices connected to your Dropbox account? Yes Question or Issue 1) Can you see whether a linked device has viewed a file? 2) Does file activity show whether a file has been downloaded? Context: After I separated from my ex-husband, I changed my Dropbox password and checked that folders were not shared with him. I did not realize that two of his devices were still linked, and that Dropbox (unlike every other app I have ever used) would not require devices to sign in with the new password. He recently sent me texts showing that he had access to my files and had viewed some highly personal information and photos. I found the security tab that confirmed two devices were linked and he had accessed my Dropbox. I immediately deleted those devices from my account. However, now I am trying to confirm if he viewed or downloaded anything. Because the devices were linked, Dropbox sees them as "me" so doesn't show another person viewing them. Your help would be greatly appreciated. Feeling pretty vulnerable right now.19Views0likes3CommentsAllow us to see all the folders a user has access to and easily remove them from member.
Currently you can see who are the shared people in a folder or file. We need to be able to select a person and see the folders and files they have access to, and then obviously un-share from there. Not being able to manage this easily is a significant security risk.281Views5likes3CommentsRestrict changes to top level folders while allowing changes to lower level folders
We have numerous incidents where a team member accidentally changes a high-level folder (rename, move, delete, etc) causing a cascade of sync problems and stalling the projects for hours. If certain folders could be restricted to read-only while still allow the child-folders to be editable by members, that would be extremely helpful.93Views0likes2CommentsGoogle Sign-In and email aliases
I would like to report a usability issue related to Google Sign-In and email aliases, and propose an enhancement. I have: One Google account with multiple email aliases. One long-standing Dropbox account created with one of these aliases (letâs call it alias@domain.com), with its own Dropbox password. The same underlying Google account also has a âmainâ address (main@domain.com). What happens today: My Dropbox account email is set to alias@domain.com. If I try to log into Dropbox using âContinue with Googleâ and select my main@domain.com identity, Dropbox creates a completely new, empty Dropbox account for main@domain.com instead of linking the Google login to my existing Dropbox account. This behavior is consistent with the current requirement that the Google email must exactly match the Dropbox account email to use Google Sign-In. [help.dropbox](https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/google-sign-in) What I would like to achieve: Keep a single Dropbox account. Be able to: - log into that one Dropbox account with email + password (using alias@domain.com), and - also log in with Google Sign-In using the same underlying Google account (main@domain.com), without creating a separate Dropbox account. Feature request: If technically and security-wise feasible, Iâd like to request: 1. A way to explicitly **link an existing Dropbox account** to a Google account for Sign-In, even if the Google address and the Dropbox email differ (for example main@domain.com â alias@domain.com), possibly via a confirmation flow on both sides. [help.dropbox](https://help.dropbox.com/account-access/google-sign-in) Clearer safeguards to **prevent accidental creation of a new Dropbox account** when a user mistakenly uses Google Sign-In with an email that already corresponds (directly or via alias) to an existing Dropbox user. An advanced âlogin methodsâ section in account settings where a user can: - see which Google account is linked, - link/unlink a Google account, - continue to use email + password in parallel. This would greatly improve the experience for users with Google aliases or complex identity setups, and reduce accidental account duplication. Thank you for considering this request.47Views0likes1CommentThe underlying connection was closed error
Have an integration in C# and has been working fine for a long time till now as nd we get the following error {"The underlying connection was closed: Could not establish trust relationship for the SSL/TLS secure channel."} When doing the following call var full = await client.Users.GetCurrentAccountAsync(); Any help would be appreciated thanksI got an email that I don't meet the age requirement to use Dropbox. How can I solve this?
I was actually just trying to update my account and pay via my departmentâs card, and that process has apparently resulted in my account being flagged as âtoo youngâ to hold an account. I am 40 years old. I am now being told that everything I have saved will be deleted within 48 hours. At the same time, resolving this issue seems to require contacting you, which itself may take up to 48 hours (since the payment has not yet gone through). Is there any quicker way to resolve this issue and prevent the deletion of my data? Thank you for your help. Dropbox Plan from BAsic to Family, Do you have access to the email linked to the account? Hello! Iâm hoping someone here can help me understand how Dropbox handles abuse reports. I recently found two Dropbox folders containing non-consensual deepfake p*rn of real people. I reported both folders using the standard report form, but later got an automated reply saying no violation of Dropboxâs Terms of Service was found. That surprised me, because the folders clearly contain explicit deepfake content of identifiable real individuals. The person sharing these folders was also advertising several other similar links for sale, so it looks like their account seems to be mainly used for distributing this kind of content. One thing I noticed is that the shared folder links include an access key in the URL. Iâm wondering if the report system might be removing that key, meaning whoever reviews the report canât actually open the folder and see whatâs inside. I also emailed appeals@dropbox.com over a week ago with the full links and some context, but I havenât received any reply yet. So I wanted to ask: Is non-consensual deepfake content allowed to be stored and shared on Dropbox? If not, whatâs the best way to report shared folders that need a full access link? Is there another contact or channel if abuse reports donât get addressed through the automated system? Thanks in advance for any guidance.56Views0likes1Comment
