Could anyone help with this issue? I was asked to join a shared dropbox folder but it turns out it was a request to join their dropbox account. Now my account has disappeared and been cancelled and I'm inside their account.
How can I setup my account again and remove myself (and my files) from their account? I don't seem to be able to do this as I'm now a member of someone else's account.
Really appreciate anyone's help - because I'm really concerned all my files have now been compromised and are on someone else's account...

It sounds like you were invited to and joined their Business account. When doing so, you merged your account into their team account, effectively making them the owner of your account.
In order to leave the team, the team admin needs to convert your account back to an individual account. It's important that they don't just remove you from the team as doing so would delete your account. If that were to happen, the team admin only has seven days to restore your account.
