What happens when you die

Banks have a transfer on death option/ deed that supersedes probate and happens automatically when death of the original owner of the funds is proven. In the case of dropbox is there an option to transfer certain files/ folders to another pre-nominated dropbox user when dropbox knows of my death. I do not want to give my beneficiaries/ executor access to everything.

Hey wsupertrampg - welcome to our Community and thanks for using Dropbox!

in general, if a person close to someone who has passed away needs access to a Dropbox account of a deceased user, then we have a procedure detailed here in order to assist them.

There's no way to pre-determine another Dropbox user to be the beneficiary automatically in case that occurs at the moment.

I hope this clears things up.

    "What happens when you die"

People have wondered about and debated this topic for thousands of years. It's a central topic for many religions. Personally, I don't know for sure but my hope is that self-awareness and consciousness have a way to comfortably continue on in an afterlife. Maybe one day very smart artificial intelligences will be able to help illuminate this important question, e.g., what do they experience when they're turned off? If the day arrives when such an AI helps power Dropbox, maybe members of the Community will be among the first to learn the answer.
