How to change my avatar and username

I'd like to personalize my  appearance in the community. I'm thinking I can simply upload an image and paste it into my avatar.  Is one permited to change the username?   Thanks for your help. ...

Click your avatar and select My settings. I took care of the username change for you.

    You have a cat image for your avatar, but I don't know how to upload a custom avatar.

      Hey aljustiet, while you can't upload your own image through the settings that Rich mentioned, you can choose one of the already available avatars, if you want.
