Dropbox cannot charge you if you didnt give it your card details or if it has and you didn't somebody has hacked your card and so you need to speak to your card company. Most often charges occur when people dont cancel a free trial in time and ignore the email warnings.
If your account now shows as Basic use https://help.dropbox.com/billing/find-credit-card-charge to find out which account you upgraded and then downgrade it. Note refunds not usually given unless legally required: https://help.dropbox.com/plans/refund
