My Dropbox system won't start at startup; I have to start it manually each time I log on. My Preferences indicate I want to start on bootup, but there are no startup flags (according to Autoruns). What's wrong, and how can I fix this (assuming I can)?
Thanks.
Hey @Roger B.30, sorry to hear you're having issues with this.
May I ask if you have any antivirus or firewalls running on your computer? Also, what is the OS of your device?
Feel free to also let me know the version of the desktop app on your computer, as shown in your taskbar or menu bar, next to your WiFi.
Thanks!

AV: Microsoft Defender
Firewall: Microsoft Firewall
Dropbox version: 173.4.6706
OS: Windows 10
Hi @Roger B.30, can you disable your firewall temporarily and let me know if the issue persists?

Megan, I uninstalled DB, turned off my firewall, and reinstalled DB; the startup flag showed up. Does this mean that I have to turnoff the firewall every time I have to reinstall DB? DB works when the firewall is up; the only problem is the startup flag.
Hi @Roger B.30, when you say the startup flag, do you mean that the app opened during start-up when the firewall was off?

That is correct. When I looked with Autoruns, there was a flag/cookie that had not been there before that started Dropbox up at boot time. I'm surprised that Microsoft Defender won't allow that flag/cookie to be installed when Dropbox was.
Hey @Roger B.30, sorry for jumping in here.
Is there any option to whitelist Dropbox on your firewall perhaps, so that you can avoid this issue in the future?

I think I've whitelisted DB. I'll find on next reboot
