Error 0x80070057 when installing the app.

It does seem to be a general Windows error message, and not one coming from Dropbox. Which could indicate potential corruption in the file system, among other things, but Microsoft would have more specific details on this error.
I'd suggest that you also try our offline installer, and see if this helps things.
