One Drobox Account, two different icons in Finder

One Drobox Account, two different icons in Finder

Screenshot 2023-04-02 at 19.49.07.pngI inadvertently changed the name of my Dropbox account last week to tkurzphotos. My old name for Dropbox now shows up in my Finder, but with a different icon next to it. Now the proper DB icon shows 550GB of data, and the 'folder on (showing the original name) shows 732 GB of data. So now I'm concerned about deleting the original one as I dont want to mistakingly lose data. So two questions - How do I ensure I dont lose anything, and is it safe to delete the icon shaped like a folder?

Hey @tkurzphotos, thanks for taking the time to post here.

In this case, basically you need to figure out which one is the Dropbox folder that is actually syncing.

It should be the one with the Dropbox icon, which you can confirm by clicking on the Dropbox icon in your menu bar and then on the folder icon.

You can add a test file and then check your account online, to confirm that it synced.

Other than that, I'm afraid there's no way to compare the two folders through Dropbox; you can do it manually or through a third party app.

If you find files in the Dropbox folder with the folder icon that are not in your syncing Dropbox folder, move them to it, to sync them to your account.

I hope this helps, but let me know if you have any questions.
