Every time I restart my PC, a few of my synced folders become "read only". Then every day I have to right click on properties and uncheck the read only option. Then it takes 20 minutes for the folder (90GB) to become available on my local machine. Can someone please help me find a more permanent solution? This way I will not have to wait for 20 minutes every day. Thanks a lot!

Hi @gborker, let's jump right into this!

That's odd indeed. Can you clarify your OS, along with the Dropbox app version that you're using?

That'll help us exclude any Beta versions, that could be causing this. Also, does this happen with one specific folder, or with every file/folder of yours?

Keep me posted, and we'll take it from there!

Thanks a lot Megan. I have Windows 10. I am using Dropbox version 181.3.5515.

I checked following your question and it is happening with one particular folder, but there seems to be nothing special about the folder except that its pretty large (as I mentioned earlier, about 90GB).

Hi @gborker, it looks like you're running the beta version of the Dropbox desktop application.

To install our latest stable version, visit this page and switch ‘Early releases’ to Off:

Afterwards, re-download the app from here and let me know if this helps.

Hi Jay,

I followed your advice and am now using Dropbox v180.4.4912 but I continue to face the same issue. Do you possibly have some other advice?

Thanks a lot!

Thanks for the info, I'd recommend contacting the support team for them to investigate this matter in more detail.
